Charging rural businesses extra for postage is grossly unfair, say Pembrokeshire's Assembly Members.
Royal Mail has applied to the industry regulator for permission to introduce zonal pricing in the county. This would mean that companies would be charged more for delivery in rural areas.
"I think this is absolutely outrageous," said Preseli Pembrokeshire AM Paul Davies. "Once again rural areas are being used as a cashpoint for Royal Mail."
Angela Burns, AM for West Carmarthen and South Pembrokeshire, said: "Once again rural areas are being penalised. We keep telling people to be greener and to work from home and yet anyone brave enough to set up a company in Pembrokeshire is being punished. "This is another nail in the coffin of rural business."
