Young People Need More Than Leaflets To Survive The Recession

RESPONDING to news the Assembly Government is producing leaflets aimed at supporting young people and parents through the recession

RESPONDING to news the Assembly Government is producing leaflets aimed at supporting young people and parents through the recession, Shadow Education Minister Paul Davies AM said:

"Parents and young people need every possible support to survive the recession.

"But instead of spending money on leaflets the Assembly Government should properly fund further education in Wales so young people can access the courses and skills that will help them get a job.

"While young people need to make informed choices about their futures they also need the government to support the institutions which will give them the opportunity to succeed.

"This initiative is typical of Jane Hutt's approach to government. She is happy to spend public money on glossy leaflets while colleges cry out for resources to fund courses which will give young people the best start in their working lives."
