Preseli Pembrokeshire AM Paul Davies recently attended an NFU Welsh food reception at the Assembly to celebrate Welsh produce and the Welsh food industry. Mr Davies met with NFU Cymru members and agricultural industry representatives to celebrate the high quality of Welsh food and to discuss issues facing the Welsh food industry today.

Preseli Pembrokeshire AM Paul Davies said, “It’s always a pleasure to attend a reception that recognises the value of Welsh farming. Wales’ reputation for fine food is a great acknowledgement of the hard work of farmers across the country and therefore, its crucial that the sector is supported.”

He added, “NFU Cymru are right to highlight the lack of joined up policy between Welsh food and farming sectors and I hope the Welsh Government will reflect on this and come forward with an overarching strategic policy that incorporates both sectors.”

“Of course, Pembrokeshire in particular plays an important role in the Welsh food industry and given that agriculture is one of the main industries of the area, it’s even more important that we promote hardworking farmers’ efforts and celebrate their produce at every opportunity.”
