Welsh Conservatives today launched ambitious proposals to help small businesses access finance.

The current economic climate and worsening credit conditions have made it increasingly difficult for many small and medium-sized businesses to access the funding they need.

Successful loan applications fell by 24% in the UK between 2007 and 2010, while the FSB has reported that Wales has the lowest business confidence of any region of the UK, with the exception of Northern Ireland.
