A VITAL meeting looking at the future funding of the Paul Sartori Foundation takes place in Cardiff this week. (13th Nov)
Welsh Health Minister Edwina Hart and charity bosses will be attending the meeting organised by Preseli Pembrokeshire AM Paul Davies.
The Pembrokeshire-based hospice at home charity warned it may have to fold after being allocated just eight days' worth of funding by the Welsh Assembly Government last month.
Also present at the summit will be Baroness Finlay, the chairman of the group that came up with the funding recommendation, and South Pembrokeshire AM Angela Burns.
"This will be an important meeting and a chance for everyone to sit down together to discuss the situation," said Mr Davies.
"I am not expecting miracles but I hope that the Foundation will have a chance to present their case and promote their model of care in the community.
"The way they operate differs to the more common residential hospice with beds but it works very well in Pembrokeshire."
Mrs Burns added: "We are doing everything we can to support this wonderful charity and I hope we will be able to demonstrate to the Minister just how vital Paul Sartori's work is in Pembrokeshire," added Mrs Burns.
