A "useful and constructive meeting" about the funding of the Paul Sartori Foundation
took place in Cardiff yesterday. (13th)
Four representatives from Pembrokeshire's hospice at home movement travelled to the Welsh capital to a meeting organised by Preseli Pembrokeshire AM Paul Davies.
The charity had warned it may have to fold after being allocated just eight days' worth of funding by a Welsh Assembly Government last month.
They met with Welsh Health Minister Edwina Hart and Baroness Finlay, the Chairman of the group that came up with the funding recommendation.
"We had a useful and constructive meeting and the Baroness and the charity were able to discuss in detail what has happened," said Mr Davies.
South Pembrokeshire AM Angela Burns, who also attended the meeting, said: "It was useful to have an opportunity to air my concerns about the funding process."
The Assembly Members were handed a 7,000 signature petition collected by the Foundation which they in turn have submitted to the Assembly's petitions committee.
"We are planning to hold a further meeting in a few weeks' time and I am hopeful that matters will soon progress," added Mr Davies.
