A call for urgent support for those self-employed across Wales has been made by local Welsh Parliament Member, Paul Davies. Mr Davies reiterated the need for the Welsh Government to re-examine how it’s supporting the self-employed and introduce accessible measures to help them through the Covid-19 pandemic.
Mr Davies, “Whilst I appreciate that some support has been forthcoming, I’m continuing to receive correspondence from very frustrated and worried self-employed individuals who tell me that support is desperately needed and made as accessible as possible too. The Welsh Government must listen to their views and explore ways of tailoring support to businesses in Wales so they can survive the pandemic. Many of these businesses are not just economic assets, but cultural assets too and it’s vital that Governments at all levels redouble their efforts and do more to support the self-employed, as a matter of urgency.”
