Welsh Conservatives have renewed calls for an urgent decision from the Welsh Government on its Bovine TB strategy.

The call follows more strong criticism of the minister's on-going delays, this time including accusations of 'cowardice' from Pembrokeshire famers speaking to BBC Wales.

Responding to a recent Welsh Conservative written question asking for an update on publication of a Science Review Panel report, the Environment Minister said: 'I will make the report publicly available when I make a further statement in the Chamber which I hope to do in March.'

Two weeks ago the Finance Minister said a full announcement would be made in early March.

Last year both ministers, along with the First Minister, said a full announcement would be made early in the New Year.

Shadow Minister for Rural Affairs, Antoinette Sandbach AM, said:

"This is an issue that was first kicked into the long grass last summer. Since then, we have seen more and more delays and more and more ignorance of the problems faced by the farming community across Wales.

"Farmers have been hit emotionally, psychologically and financially by this continuing fiasco. They've been completely let down by the minister and it's no surprise he now faces this deservedly strong criticism."

Assembly Member for Preseli Pembrokeshire, Paul Davies AM, said:

"Farmers in my constituency are at the end of their tether and this most recent criticism is, unfortunately, entirely justified.

"This is a critically important issue, yet the minister has wrongly let it fall by the wayside.

"Our farmers deserve to know what the future holds and there's no reason why we should not have a decision as early as next week."
