Shadow Business Minister, Nick Ramsay AM, together with Preseli Pembrokeshire AM Paul Davies recently paid a visit to Pembroke Power Station and Milford Haven Port Authority. Mr Ramsay and Mr Davies met with Mr Steve Glover and Mr Andy Smith, of Pembroke Power Station, and Mark Andrews, Harbour Master and Deputy Chief Executive of the Port Authority.
During the visits, Mr Davies and Mr Ramsay discussed a number of business issues including enterprise zones, business rates and development plans for the local area.
Commenting on the visit, Mr Davies said "I was very pleased that my colleague and Shadow Business Minister, Nick Ramsay could visit some of Pembrokeshire's largest employers. It was a great chance for Nick to hear first-hand about some of the challenges facing businesses here in Pembrokeshire and some of the issues they deal with on a daily basis."
Mr Ramsay added: "It was fascinating to see how the natural deep water port of the Haven is being utilised to attract investment to the area. The power station is a world leader in terms of the technology it is using and will be key to providing a sizable proportion of the UK's power needs once it is fully operational next year. I am also excited about the plans that the Port Authority has to develop and I look forward to hearing more about them in the near future."
