Dinas Cross residents are continuing to suffer from a loss of channels since the digital TV switchover last summer. After conducting enquiries, Channel 4 believes that co-channel interference between Irish transmissions across the water and the Arqiva commercial multiplexes may be the reason for the loss of channels.
Commenting on the continuing channelling problems after switchover, local Assembly Member Paul Davies said:
"I have continued to monitor this situation and made representations to ITV and Channel 4, on behalf of my constituents who have been affected by this issue.
"Whilst I am pleased that progress is being made and that the cause of the problem seems to have been identified, residents in the Dinas Cross area still experience a disproportionate broadcasting service in comparison to everyone else.
I will continue to focus on this issue and I will now await guidance from Ofcom for those that have been affected. I hope very much that this matter is solved as soon as possible for all concerned."
