RESPONDING to the news that an Assembly Government funded scheme to get Welsh universities helping businesses through the recession has been postponed, Shadow Education Minister Paul Davies said:

"The situation is a complete shambles.

"The Assembly Government announced this money was available in March and the schemes were supposed to be up and running by June.

"This £2mn economic support initiative could be helping businesses across Wales. Instead the money is currently doing nothing.

"The Minister needs to sort out the situation as soon as possible."
