Pembrokeshire Assembly Members Paul Davies and Angela Burns have written to Hywel Dda Community Health Council, urging them to oppose the local health board's reconfiguration plans. They have called on the Community Health Council to refer the matter to the Health Minister, Lesley Griffiths AM, following the overwhelming opposition to the health board's plans from the people of Pembrokeshire.
Preseli Pembrokeshire AM Mr Davies said, "The people of Pembrokeshire have spoken loud and clear in relation to Hywel Dda health board's reconfiguration proposals. Sadly, the health board has decided to ignore their views and continue to press ahead with a series of controversial plans, which includes closing the special care baby unit at Withybush hospital and the Minor Injuries Units at Tenby and Pembroke Dock. Angela and I are calling on the Community Health Council to join us in standing up for the people of Pembrokeshire, by referring this matter to the Health Minister."
