Local Senedd Members Paul Davies and Samuel Kurtz have showed their support for people living with cancer by attending the annual Macmillan Coffee Morning event at the Senedd last week.

The event, which brought together MSs from across Wales, highlighted the incredible work that Macmillan Cancer Support does to help people living with cancer and their families. Macmillan’s Coffee Mornings, held in communities right across the UK, are a vital way of raising awareness and fundraising to ensure that those affected by cancer receive the care and support they need.

Both Members praised the charity’s work and the generosity of people in Pembrokeshire who continue to back fundraising efforts year after year.

Speaking after the event, Samuel Kurtz said:

"It was fantastic to attend the Macmillan Coffee Morning at the Senedd and show my support for the outstanding work that Macmillan does across West Wales.

"So many of us know friends, family members, or neighbours whose lives have been touched by cancer, and the support that Macmillan provides makes a huge difference in helping people through incredibly difficult times.

"I would like to pay tribute to the many local volunteers and fundraisers who give their time and energy to support Macmillan. Every cake baked, every pound raised, really does go a long way to ensuring that people living with cancer do not face it alone."

Also commenting after the event, Paul Davies said:

“Macmillan do a fantastic job of supporting cancer patients throughout their journey, and I was proud to show my support by attending their Senedd coffee morning.

“As someone living with cancer, I’m very much aware of the challenges that some people are facing.    Macmillan offer practical help, support and advice, so that people can live as fully as they can.

“Every cuppa matters – by hosting fun events, not only are people brought together, but vital funds are raised so that Macmillan can continue to offer support to those that need it.”
