Preseli Pembrokeshire Paul Davies AM was recently given a tour of the new Pembrokeshire Frame offices and furniture restoration unit which has relocated to the Old Telegraph buildings in Haverfordwest.
Founder and CEO Jenny Sims who met with Paul Davies is proud that Pembrokeshire FRAME provides opportunities to people with a learning disability or who are recovering from mental ill health. " The company provides opportunities for severely disadvantaged people to test their ability to undertake real work; develop new skills and change the direction of their lives she said "
Paul Davies was particularly interested in visiting the wood crafting workshops which has funding from ESF and the Coastal project and has been operating successfully for 14 years.
The workshop participants had just completed a very unusual order for 6 large bright pink bird boxes an order from Welsh Government's Nest Scheme to be used on their road shows. The Nest scheme; which is open to all householders in Wales, provides advice on saving energy, money management, fuel tariffs, benefit entitlement and home improvements to help reduce energy bills.
Paul Davies recently ran a fuel poverty surgery for local constituents with West Wales Nest advisor Carol Lincoln. Mr Davies says of the scheme..............................
'I was delighted that not only had Pembrokeshire Frame had the opportunity to design and craft the bird boxes for Nest but that one or two of the Frame participants had even benefited from packages of home improvement measures offered under the Nest scheme' he added.
