Local Assembly Member Paul Davies has welcomed the UK Government's confirmation of enhanced capital allowances that will enable businesses to claim 100 per cent first-year capital allowances on their spending for their plant and machinery. Announced in the Autumn Statement, there will also be additional tax relief for businesses in the Haven Waterway enterprise zone.

Mr Davies said, "I'm pleased that the UK Government has granted enhanced capital allowances for the Haven Waterway enterprise zone. This is extremely welcome news that will support job creation in the zone and promote further growth and investment in Pembrokeshire.

The Haven Waterway zone is critical to economic growth in west Wales and allowing more businesses to invest in equipment and gain tax relief is exactly the kind of commitment our economy needs. It's now important that Welsh Labour Ministers work to speed up final details and make sure that the Haven Waterway zone is fully equipped and working towards economic growth."
