Local Assembly Member Paul Davies is supporting Prostate Cancer UK’s new campaign Men United to help raise awareness of prostate cancer across Britain. Prostate Cancer UK are leading change on developing more accurate tests, focussing current testing on men at higher risk, and lobbying for better treatments and equal access - and through Men United they are aiming to put men’s health back up the agenda.
Supporting their new initiative, Mr Davies said “I’m pleased to support the Men United campaign and I would encourage men across Pembrokeshire to find out more about how they can get involved by visiting http://prostatecanceruk.org/get-involved/men-united. Prostate Cancer UK have done a fantastic job raising awareness by encouraging 200,000 people to take their online awareness test. That’s 200,000 people who now know more about prostate cancer than they did beforehand – and indeed, many went on to do more as part of Men United.”
He added, “Men United aims to encourage men across the UK to undertake group activities with their friends and help fundraise and awareness raise for prostate cancer. This could mean anything from sponsored walks or organising barbecues and parties, so I urge the men of Pembrokeshire to get creative and help support this wonderful cause.”
