Paul Davies has kicked off his Assembly election campaign for the Welsh Conservatives in Haverfordwest with a promise to continue putting Pembrokeshire first.

Paul Davies has kicked off his Assembly election campaign for the Welsh Conservatives in Haverfordwest with a promise to continue putting Pembrokeshire first.

Over the last four years Paul has been one of the hardest working AMs in Wales, both with his constituency work in Pembrokeshire and his Shadow Education and Welsh Language role in Cardiff Bay.

Paul has worked hard to protect local services and was prominent in the campaign to bring additional trains to Fishguard. He has campaigned to retain services at Withybush hospital and increase the availability of NHS dentists in the area. He has also fought to save local post offices and has spoken out in support of the Save Milford Haven Coastguard campaign.

Paul has been a big supporter of regenerating Pembrokeshire and attracting new businesses to the area. He has lobbied various Ministers over the past four years to improve the transport infrastructure in the area, support local businesses and encourage new business investment in Pembrokeshire.

Over the next month, Paul and his team of local volunteers are planning to visit every community in Preseli Pembrokeshire. He will be attending a number of public meetings and hustings in the area and doorstep canvassing to ensure that his re-election message reaches every community in the area.

Speaking at the campaign launch, Paul said:

"I believe that this is a crucial election for the people of Wales. Our country faces some tough challenges in the years ahead and so it is essential that Preseli Pembrokeshire elects an Assembly Member who will work hard to keep Pembrokeshire on the Assembly Government's agenda. Pembrokeshire is hugely significant to some of our country's industries, such as energy, tourism and agriculture and our next Assembly Member must put Pembrokeshire First. This is something that I have done over the past four years – and something I hope to continue to do over the next five."
