Local Assembly Member Paul Davies is encouraging young disabled people across Pembrokeshire to take advantage of funding for sports and music. The scheme, available through Pembrokeshire County Council, is available to disabled young people aged between 7 and 25 and young people can either apply for the sponsorship themselves or through a parent, carer or appropriate adult.
Mr Davies said, "I'd like to encourage as many disabled young people as possible from across Pembrokeshire to make an application to Pembrokeshire County Council. This sponsorship can provide some much needed funding for new sporting equipment or musical instruments. The deadline for application is September 1st, so time is of the essence!”
He added, "I’m delighted that the Coalition Group, a local organisation which represents people with disabilities and PAVS (Pembrokeshire Association of Voluntary Services) have provided funding through the Pembrokeshire Youth Bank for this scheme. This initiative will make such a difference to disabled young people right across the County, and so I commend everyone involved in this project for providing such wonderful opportunities for our disabled youngsters.”
