Following a British Lung Foundation (BLF) reception recently at the National Assembly for Wales, local Assembly Member Paul Davies is backing calls for greater leadership to ensure that the Respiratory Health Delivery Plan is delivered and that services improve.
In April, the Minister for Health and Social Services, launched the three year Respiratory Health Delivery Plan. The plan was described as ‘ambitious’ and was designed to focus health boards to redesign services along the principles of prudent health care to improve the lives of patients.
Mr Davies said “Attending the reception has renewed my determination to do all I can to help those in Preseli Pembrokeshire who are affected by a lung disease. It was a pleasure to see representatives of the Haverfordwest Breathe Easy branch in attendance and I now better understand the challenges of the plan for those living with a lung condition, carers and health care professionals.”
He added, “I hope the British Lung Foundation continue their hard work in representing and campaigning for those who live with a lung condition. Their work is invaluable in supporting those with a lung condition and their families. I will of course raise the Respiratory Health Delivery Plan whenever the opportunity presents itself.”
