Local Assembly Member Paul Davies has recently met up volunteers at a community allotment in Haverfordwest. Mr Davies discussed the benefits of allotments to individuals and the local community, whilst studying some of the produce being grown.
Mr Davies said: "I was delighted to visit the allotments in Haverfordwest, to see some of the good work being done by local volunteers. These allotments bind the local community together and are a great way to learn more about the benefits of working with nature, healthy eating and the local wildlife.
In recent years there has been a growing demand to develop a more self-sufficient lifestyle in Pembrokeshire, with more and more keen to grow their own vegetables and plants. Renting allotments, both individually and communally is extremely popular and I am keen to see that these services are provided. Therefore, I will continue to monitor this situation and work with volunteers and the local authority to ensure that these much needed local services are available to all."
