Ministers Need To Raise Capital Project Ambitions

Paul Davies AM

Commenting on the statement by the Welsh Labour Government on the Wales Infrastructure Investment Plan, Paul Davies AM, Shadow Finance Minister, said:

"I welcome a set of strategic investment priorities which includes improving transport and telecommunications networks and investing in housing.

"In the current financial climate, it is even more important to consider all options when financing capital projects including private investment.

"Welsh Conservatives want to see the Welsh Government commit to schemes such as Public Private Partnerships, which could significantly increase the funding available for infrastructure projects to deliver economic growth and jobs for Wales.

"Building on what we hope is a current and up to date document, Welsh Ministers need to raise their ambitions to maximise spending available for capital projects to help encourage growth in our economy."
