Preseli Pembrokeshire Assembly Member Paul Davies has criticised the Welsh Government following a catalogue of failings in the Welsh health service. Earlier this week, the publication of correspondence between the author of a so-called independent report and Welsh Government officials showed that the Health department worked with the author to produce a report with a pre-determined conclusion regarding the unpopular reorganisation of health services across the country.
Mr Davies said 'Emails between the Health department and the author of a supposedly independent report, suggest that there was collaboration to produce a report with a pre-determined conclusion. My constituents are extremely worried about the downgrading of services at Withybush hospital, as was demonstrated by a recent protest on the steps of the Senedd. Their concern will only be heightened when they learn that the Health Minister's department is working with academics to produce reports that suit their own needs."
