Local Assembly Member Paul Davies is supporting Carers Rights Day 2012 in order to raise awareness of the needs of carers with the public, decision makers and professionals; as well as guide carers towards to the practical support that they can receive. This year Carers Rights Day will be taking place on Friday 30th November and the theme is 'Getting help in tough times', focussing on helping carers find financial help, get a helping hand and make the most of technology.
Mr Davies said, "I'm delighted to add my support to Carers Rights Day 2012. There are a number of additional costs that come with caring for a loved one with a disability and it is important that we do all that we can to make carers aware of their rights and the types of support available to them. More than 2 million people across the UK become carers every year and many don't identify themselves as carers and therefore miss out on vital support. I would like to encourage carers across Pembrokeshire to find out more about what support is available to them by visiting the Carers UK website at http://www.carersuk.org/get-involved/carers-rights-day"
