Local AM Paul Davies has recently raised concerns regarding overcrowding on trains in the Chamber with the First Minister, Rt Hon Carwyn Jones AM.
Paul Davies said, "I raised the issue of overcrowding on trains with the First Minister, following representations to me from concerned constituents and I have since written to him on this issue.
I have been informed that the overcrowding has been so bad that passengers have been prevented from using the toilet facilities, due to people standing in the aisles of the trains. Clearly this is a serious health and safety issue and it can have critical consequences for disabled passengers and elderly passengers.
Passengers pay for a comfortable train journey and a pleasant experience, and train companies regularly promote and advertise their train travel as a comfortable and stress-free experience. It is important therefore, that the Welsh Government reviews this situation. It is crucial that the people of Pembrokeshire are heard loud and clear on this issue. I now look forward to receiving the First Minister's response."
