Deputy Leader of the Welsh Conservative Assembly Group and AM for Preseli Pembrokeshire Paul Davies has opened the Meads Reservoir Partnership Project in Milford Haven this week. The project provides a garden and conservation area for local children to learn more about the natural environment and develop their gardening skills.
Speaking after the event, Mr Davies said, "It was a great pleasure to open the Meads Reservoir Partnership Project, which gives children a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the local environment and its wildlife. The project already has a pond where children can see frogs, newts, toads as well as the birds that live on the site and I'm told that there will be more tree planting in the woodland area in the near future."
He added, "These types of projects are a great way of binding the local community together and teaching children the benefits of working with nature. I would like to extend my thanks to Mr Setterfield and his family for developing this project over the past few years. I would also like to thank the Duke of Edinburgh students and The Princes Trust who have also worked hard to develop the gardens into the fantastic facilities that we see today."
