Local AM Paul Davies was pleased to host the launch of the first UKPIA representative office in Cardiff, at the Wales Millennium Centre this week. Joining Mr Davies at the event was the Rt Hon Carwyn Jones AM where they welcomed the new office to Wales and discussed challenges and issues facing the UK petroleum industry.
Preseli Pembrokeshire AM Paul Davies said, "It was a huge privilege to host this event with the United Kingdom Petroleum Industry Association. I sincerely hope that the opening of this new office will forge a strong relationship between UKPIA and the National Assembly and I look forward to working closely with UKPIA in the future."
"I am very proud to represent a constituency of strategic importance to the UK energy sector, where Wales' two refineries, Murco and Valero are hugely important to Pembrokeshire's economy as they purchase services from almost 1000 companies across Wales. This is something that should be celebrated and I hope that we can build on this for the future."
