Local Assembly Member Paul Davies is encouraging groups across Pembrokeshire to take advantage of funding for sports. Sports Wales are currently offering grants of up to £25,000 to fund new activities, equipment and sports training. Applications are welcome from youth clubs, voluntary organisations and community groups.

Mr Davies said, "I'd like to encourage as many groups as possible from across Pembrokeshire to make an application to Sport Wales. These grants can provide some much needed funding for new sporting equipment or to upgrade existing facilities."

"The London 2012 Olympic Games have inspired many people to take more of an interest in participating in sport and it is important that we continue to build on this momentum. These grants could very well produce some Welsh medal winning talent for the future and it is important that groups across Pembrokeshire take full advantage."
