Language Plans Will Widen Access to Public Services in Welsh

COMMENTING on today's announcement that the Assembly Government plans to specify 57 more public service bodies under the remit of the Welsh Language Act, Shadow Heritage Minister Paul Davies AM said:

"We welcome this announcement which, if approved, will allow Welsh speakers to access more public services through the medium of Welsh.

"As a party we remain committed to increasing the use of Welsh in all spheres of life.

"We also await the publication of the Assembly Government's legislative competence order on the Welsh language with interest and look forward to studying their proposals in detail."
