The unbearable pressure put on farmers by numerous inspections has been highlighted in the Welsh Assembly by Paul Davies AM.
Speaking in a Conservative-led debate calling for a reduction in the amount of red tape in the farming industry he said: "Without doubt there is an excessive duplication of work by inspection bodies due to their inability to share information.
"Reducing bureaucracy is not impossible – it can be done."
He highlighted the example of his brother-in-law who farms in his Preseli Pembrokeshire constituency.
"He told me that he had a WAG inspection on one Monday and a local authority inspection the following Monday," said Mr Davies.
"They practically looked at the same records. This surely is madness and I hope again this review will look at the issue of sharing information."
Mr Davies also called for eartag inspections to take place at the same time as any TB test was being conducted.
"We need to trust farmers to deliver what they have been contracted to do," he added.
"Prescriptive and detailed inspection and un-necessary form filling should be things of the past."
