Local Assembly Member Paul Davies has welcomed the Welsh Government's announcement confirming that an enterprise zone will be located at the Haven Waterway in Pembrokeshire.

Mr Davies said: "I am pleased that the Welsh Government is creating an enterprise zone in Pembrokeshire, which will have huge benefits for the local economy. As we already know, 30% of the UK's energy supplies now come via Pembrokeshire, and an enterprise zone at the Haven Waterway will give us the opportunity to develop further energy businesses. I am also delighted that Nick Bourne will step in as the interim Chair of the Haven Waterway. His experience and expertise will help ensure the success of this enterprise zone."

He added, "There are a number of additional benefits to having an enterprise zone based in Pembrokeshire, including the roll out of high-speed broadband and further transport infrastructure enhancements. I am pleased that the Welsh Government has listened and fully committed to an enterprise zone in Pembrokeshire."
