Preseli Pembrokeshire AM Paul Davies says west Wales has been overlooked once
again by the Welsh Assembly Government.
The Strategic Capital Investment Fund is providing £350 million of public money for 19 major projects – but not a single one is based in the west.
"Once again Pembrokeshire has been marginalised," said Mr Davies. "It seems that we are being punished for living in a rural area as we have been overlooked for investment yet again."
The schemes announced include improvements to Swansea hospitals, upgrading railway between Llanelli and Swansea and new schools in Wrexham, Newport and Blaenavon.
"I appreciate that improving rail links further down the line will have a knock-on effect for us here in west Wales.
"But how about some capital investment spent directly in our area? The A40 needs dualling, Fishguard needs proper rail links and our tourism industry needs capital investment too.
"It seems that all the money is being spent in the north and south east once again."
