Following the merger of Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion CHCs into a new super CHC on the 1st April 2010, a number of concerns have been spotlighted.
These concerns range from the speed of the implementation process, the geography of the local areas and the provision of adequate funding to enable its development.
Commenting on the growing concerns surrounding Community Health Councils, local Assembly Member Paul Davies said:
"I still remain concerned that patient voices are not being heard. We must ensure that voices are heard on a local level given the size of this new body. I will continue to monitor this issue at the Assembly on behalf of the people of Preseli Pembrokeshire.
There are concerns that must be addressed and there needs to be a focus on safeguarding health services, here, in Pembrokeshire.
The Welsh Assembly Government and the Health Minister must now give assurances that the voices of patients in Pembrokeshire will be heard through this new super CHC.
