Eleven beaches in Pembrokeshire have been awarded the international Blue Flag Award this year, as well as 12 Green Coast Awards and 19 Seaside Awards for their cleanliness and high quality water.
Commenting on this, local Assembly Member Paul Davies said, “I’m delighted that once again, Pembrokeshire has topped the list of blue flag beaches in Wales, and that is very much down to the hard work of local volunteers, organisations like Keep Wales Tidy, Pembrokeshire County Council and Pembrokeshire National Park. Our local beaches are some of the world’s finest and are an important asset in attracting visitors and tourists to the area.”
He added, “The tourism industry in Pembrokeshire is extremely important to the local economy and the Welsh economy. Therefore, the Welsh Government must do more to market Wales to the world to ensure that we maximise the potential of Pembrokeshire’s beautiful and unique coastline.”
