A new initiative has been launched by the Welsh Assembly Government recently to enable individuals and communities in Wales' broadband not-spot areas to approach service providers directly, with Assembly Government funding.
It is understood that support will be available for up to a maximum of £1,000 for individual premises.
Local Assembly Member Paul Davies said, "I am pleased that the Welsh Assembly Government is responding to the calls made to highlight this issue and act on it.
This follows on from the UK Government commitment to improve broadband support in rural communities as well. This support scheme will benefit many rural communities across Wales.
"However, there are serious risks at a local level of the scheme being delivered effectively. As such, I urge the Welsh Assembly Government to issue appropriate guidance and support to all individuals and communities and provide strong leadership on this issue."
