Commenting on the Chancellor of the Exchequer's Autumn Statement, Paul Davies AM, Shadow Minister for Finance, said:
"Britain is in a global race today. To succeed in that race we must deal with the deficit so we pay our way in the world.
"We welcome the measures taken by the Chancellor to reduce the UK's dependence on debt and borrowed money.
"Measures to lift 13,000 people in Wales out of tax altogether and increase the personal allowance to benefit 1.1million people will be welcomed across Wales.
"The rise in the state pension, the scrapped fuel duty rise and additional support for small businesses will be welcome relief in challenging economic times when many people are tightening their belts.
"We now look to the Welsh Government to bring forward substantive plans to invest its £227million windfall from the Conservative-led Government in major infrastructure projects, which will help create conditions for economic growth in Wales."
