Haverfordwest's new £8 million sports centre could help the town economically as well as physically, says Shadow Welsh sports minister Paul Davies.
The Preseli Pembrokeshire AM says the St Thomas Green facility will not only help people stay in shape but could also help boost the top of town.
"My office is just a stone's throw from the new building and I have been watching with interest as it has gone up over the last year," said Mr Davies.
"I was very impressed by the whole building and the facilities that it will be offering.
"I hope that it will play a key part in improving people's health and wellbeing and I think that it could also play a role in regenerating that part of town," he said.
Mr Davies is pictured being shown around the new building by Councillor Rob Lewis, cabinet member for leisure services and leisure services manager Chris Payne.
The new sports centre is opening in mid March and boasts an eight lane 25 metre swimming pool, a sports hall, badminton courts and a two storey health and fitness suite.
