Preseli Pembrokeshire AM Paul Davies has expressed his concern over Hywel Dda health board's decision to create an implementation board to carry out their controversial reorganisation plans, despite the fact that the reorganisation process itself has not yet come to an end. Mr Davies raised this issue on the floor of the Assembly, calling for an urgent statement on the matter, and then proceeded to write to the Health Minister for her comments on this issue.

Mr Davies said, "I believe that it is extremely premature of the local health board to establish an implementation board, whilst the process has not finished. At this stage, the local community health council is still considering the health board's plans. In the event that the CHC opposes the health board's proposals, then the matter will be referred to the Minister for Health for a final decision. Given these circumstances, the local health board should not be establishing any kind of implementation board until this process has been brought to a conclusion. I have now written to the Health Minister, Lesley Griffiths AM, seeking clarification on this issue and I look forward to her response in due course."
