Local Assembly Member Paul Davies recently visited the PDSA’s Petcheck mobile unit in Fishguard to catch up with staff and volunteers who are working to protect and care for pets in the local community. In partnership with Pembrokeshire County Council, PDSA vet nurses were aboard the charity’s PetCheck vehicle, carrying out free wellbeing checks for local dogs and giving advice on other pets.
Mr Davies said, “Any steps to help owners better support and care for their pets must be welcomed and the PDSA Petcheck mobile unit offers advice and support to local pet owners on their doorstep, free of charge. The vet nurses offered health checks on local dogs and even microchipping and nail-clipping services were available. I’m pleased that Pembrokeshire has been visited by the PDSA and I hope that local pet owners took full advantage of having this expertise in the local community.”
