Local Assembly Member Paul Davies is urging people, organisations and business in Pembrokeshire to sign up for this year’s Earth Hour. At 8.30pm on Saturday 28th March, hundreds of millions of people across the globe are expected to turn off their lights for an hour, to show they care about the future of our planet.
Mr Davies said “I urge everyone in Pembrokeshire to sign up to Earth Hour and switch off their lights at 8:30pm on 28th March. This is an easy way of showing you care about the planet. The threats to people and nature are real so I urge everyone to sign up in support of action against climate change. Remember that it’s not about just sitting in the dark for an hour, it’s about having fun and making 28th March a night to remember, so perhaps throw a dinner party with friends or loved ones by candlelight or perhaps even try a spot of stargazing.”
Anne Meikle, Head of WWF Cymru, said:
“I’m delighted that Paul Davies is supporting Earth Hour. It’s vital that our National Assembly has a key role to play in leading by example on protecting the environment. Please sign up for Earth Hour and switch off on the night.”
